Commercial resources require their access to be restricted to authorised users, which in this case are FET staff and learners. There are different ways of restricting access, but for the Library, the best way of doing this at the moment is to use a password. 

Different companies supply different resources. It's a bit like subscribing to a streaming service: you might subscribe to Amazon, Netflix, Disney Plus, etc., and you would have a different username/password for each of these because each service is provided by a different company.

The Library is aware that everybody already has to remember too many passwords and is looking behind the scenes at different access methods and hopefully we can can down on the number of passwords needed.
