An academic journal, or scholarly journal, is a magazine in which scholarly activity - research - relating to a particular academic subject is published. Scholarly journal content will include:
- articles presenting original research data and results
- articles reviewing or commentingon specific topics in the field of interest
- discussions of previously published research articles
- book and other reviews
